Contract Description

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy.  As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. Amendment 01 The following Addendum 01 is being issued for the subject Request for Quotation: 348965_Pumps Extension to this SAM.Gov posting will be granted and final submission for bids will be end of day 9/18/2024 Answer to questions in red. Pump must be bakeable up to 550 deg C for 500 hours min.  Need clarification of this specification. SLAC Requirement so that unit can be rebaked multiple times.  Pump indicated current must not exceed .25 micro amps after a stabilization period while connected to 5.5 kV power supply.  [AGILENT]: Does this specification apply to an ion pump open to the system or close off on itself? Can you confirm the power supply make? Clarified on the drawing SC-700-866-40 Rev 2 All stainless steel components which form the vacuum envelope must be made of 316L.  would like to get clarification on specification requirements to Line 3,4, and 5, as there is a range of steels types listed. All otherwise unspecified components must be 316L 2.75” CF must be made of 304L VAR or ESR. [AGILENT]: Same question as in line #5. Must be 304L .25” dia must be 304L or 316L. [AGILENT]: Same question as in line #5. must be 304L or 316L Pumps must be processed at 450 deg C for min 16 hours and conform to drawing specs. Need clarification.  Typical processing is performed at 450 deg C but typically processing time is based on pressure of the ion pump during manufacturing.   SLAC Requirement for processing All components inside vacuum envelope must be vacuum degassed at 1000 deg C for min of 30 minutes. Need clarification this differs from standard manufacturing process. SLAC requirements for processing Ceramics should be cleaned and air fired at 1000 deg C. [AGILENT]: Need clarification.
