Page 1 of 1 36C25023Q1127 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Axumin, Amyvid and Cerianna Doses The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with PetNet Solutions, a Siemens Company, 810 Innovation Drive, Knoxville, TN 37932, and with TrillaMed, 30100 Telegraph Road, Bingham Farm, MI 48025 an authorized distributor for Axumin, Amyvid Cerianna Doses. The Nuclear Medicine Service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is interested in using state-of-the-art radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic patient care. Axumin is used in the diagnosis of recurrent prostate cancer, Cerianna breast cancer estrogen receptor (ER)-positive lesions, and Amyvid is helpful in the diagnosis of Alzheimer s disease. These radiopharmaceuticals are proprietary. The base dose is manufactured by Blue Earth Diagnostics Inc. and then it is made radioactive and distributed by PETNET Solutions. Due to the radioactive nature of the doses and their relatively short half-life (each has a 10-hour shelf life), a local radiopharmacy must be utilized. The Government believes that only these business can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by 18SEP24 at 1700 HRS EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
